This report which covers a view of autonomy for naval operations is still relevant for today. Documented are the potential and at the time, current systems being deployed and developed by the Department of Defense. The recommendations are still valid since most technologies discussed are still under development. The key chapters are 2 and 3. In those chapters a System Engineering viewpoint is presented as to the application and classification of Autonomous Systems. I recommend these chapters be read by anyone interested in autonomous systems. The remaining chapters document the numerous unmanned system categories and vehicles that are currently in use, retried or canceled as of this reading.

Gearheads by Brad Stone is a great non-fiction book. It is set in the U.S. and includes Marc Thorpe, Trey Roski, and Steve Plotnicki. It talks about how robotic sports happened. It also talks about it's downfall and rise back up. I rated it 4 out of 5 because it had a few spelling errors.
