This is one of those anthologies I pick up over and over again. The plays are spectacular and I wish they would do a reprinting of this collection because these stories need to be heard! My personal favorite is Alice Childress' "Wine in the Wilderness" about a triptych depicting a woman which aids another to self discovery. An amazing group of stories. I would urge you to cherish this provided you can get your hands on a copy!

Some of these 20th and 21st century poems are welcome additions to my aural library. (Remind me to read more Marge Piercy.) but why all the Franz Wright and Mark Strand poems at the end? It was like a big imbalance on the teeter totter.
