Review # 1 was written on 2012-02-24 00:00:00 Ludger Engels I'm all for anything Berthoff did to contribute to the arts in composition courses. I love her mind and the passion she is still able to include in scholarly texts. I didn't like this one as much as others, mainly because she was more of the editor and her actual writing was limiting, instead choosing to include excerpts from other historical figures. Since it's so old, she doesn't adhere to APA the same way, which was a little annoying, and I would have preferred more reflection and insights from her. But I think this was more a "Yay! Other people feel the same way" kind of collection |
Review # 2 was written on 2010-11-20 00:00:00 Mike Piazza You can tell that Peters is brilliant when reading this book; the problem is that I am definitely less brilliant and not well versed in this topic. It is definitely not a very easy read. I had to read each sentence about twice to get the gist of what he was saying, and even then I wasn't always sure, but what I did get was fairly interesting. I had to read this book for a class, otherwise I never would have finished it. |
