Review # 1 was written on 2010-08-05 00:00:00 Brett Trahan The best book I have read this year. It is such a relief to find a book that is theoretically rigorous and empirically interesting. Every chapter demonstrates the benefit of theory shaping and contouring methods. Walking is a behaviour. It is also a way of gaining knowledge. If scholars are interested in strategies to think about knowledge, society and social structures, then read this book.

Review # 2 was written on 2013-07-16 00:00:00 Derrick Eason Somehow I seem to be simultaneously too liberal and too conservative for this book. In some parts it's an interesting snapshot of sex twenty (!) years ago, and had some interesting notes on the AIDS epidemic, particularly Magic Johnson, but mostly she derides condoms (and then promotes them?), believes Puritanism not actual health risks is the mastermind behind AIDS prevention, and trivializes date rape.
