Review # 1 was written on 2011-06-29 00:00:00 Gil Udry Zammito explores the pre-critical Kant, especially in the 1760s, and his relationship with his student Herder. While Zammito goes into more detail than I need and sometimes presents sophisticated arguments that i found hard to follow, I found his treatment of Kant as a person living in a particular time so absorbing that I wanted to keep on reading. As I am relatively unfamiliar with German philosophy I found the links Zammito makes between and French philosophy, especially Rousseau, particularly helpful. |
