After reading Studebaker: The Complete History, by Patrick Foster, I wanted to read more about the Hawks, and this was the book I found. I am not really certain why the Hawks and Larks were lumped together in this book, because they are really two very different types of cars made by Studebaker. While the book does provide considerable detail by model and year, I was disappointed that all of the photographs are black and white and of relatively poor quality. While that is undoubtedly because the book is really a compendium of articles first published in various automotive magazines between 1956 and 1966, color photographs could have been added between the articles--the price of the book certainly justifies such expectations. I was also disappointed that the single most important magazine article about the Golden Hawk, published in Speed Age in July 1956, was not included.
