Review # 1 was written on 2017-05-04 00:00:00 Michael Woods A great though very broad field guide to the pine barrens. Not for someone who wants to be able to identify everything they see of particular taxa, but for those wishing for some historical background and detailed identification and description of the most common organisms, I think this is a fantastic resource.

Review # 2 was written on 2017-03-23 00:00:00 Les Gelber I am reading this with John McPhee's classic, The Pine Barrens, which I first read 40 years ago when I was living in South Jetsey. This is THE ultimate guidebook to an ecologically, historically, culturally unique part of the Eastern United States. Very well done and highly recommend it, even if your exploring is from a club chair.
