Review # 1 was written on 2021-05-27 00:00:00 Laura Popovich This book is alright as far as an overview of introductory biology goes, but I would not recommend it honestly. The organization of the chapters is a bit off, in that chapters often reference topics not yet covered. There were also frequent editing errors that were sometimes seriously detrimental to comprehension. For example, a math equation formatted incorrectly just became nonsensical numbers rather than a cool fact about meiosis. In another area, whole paragraphs were copied and pasted multiple times in repetition throughout the chapter. It is disappointing that these mistakes persist even through the 6th edition of the textbook. |
Review # 2 was written on 2019-06-03 00:00:00 Jeffrey Kiper Jr I. Despise. Biology. Just no. Too much complexity. Too much science and math, even though it is an intro! The only section I enjoyed was the Darwin theories and evolution of small and large places. Other than that, I just can't. |
