Review # 1 was written on 2017-07-21 00:00:00 Wayne Louderback It's pretty good, if you're interested in the history. About as dense as should be expected - 150 pages is perfect for a thorough overview of the revolt that doens't get too bogged down in trivia. Lopez is pretty friendly to the Jesuits in the book. I'm not an expert, but he definitely seems warmer toward them than some other historians, explicitly noting that the Jesuit arguments were "right" and that they treated the Indians very well, and that the settlers just wanted more slaves. This may be entirely correct! Just sayin' it stood out.

Review # 2 was written on 2013-10-09 00:00:00 Mike Cuomo There's a ton of information here, but this is like a college text book - zero pictures & dense text. I prefer having at least some pictures/maps in my guide books. I'd recommend this if you are planning a trip a year from now, are prepared to look up things on your phone/computer while you're reading, and are going to buy another "easier" guide book to take on your actual trip (lugging this thing around in Italy seems like a non-starter).
