Review # 1 was written on 2012-09-16 00:00:00 Darnell Gates The author begins her book y validating the many variety of parenting styles and acknowledging that each parent, in his or her own way, is doing her best. We all have strengths and weaknesses. Additionally, our children are all different, but they all need basic guidance from good parents that steer them in the right direction. instead of being anxious at the overwhelming task of teaching family values, we need to let go of the guilt and lighten up. Look at the long term outcomes and not the immediate problems and mistakes in front of us. This book gave specific games and discussion cues to reinforce your family values. The games used common objects and took less than 10 minutes, but the impact of the lesson lasts much longer. This is the sort of book that you want to own a copy of rather than borrowing it from the library. |
Review # 2 was written on 2010-09-18 00:00:00 halil guner This is a great parenting reference with activities you can use to teach your kids values in almost any setting. We did some of the activities while waiting in the exam room for the doctor. I would highly recommend this book |
