A fun and articulate look at masculinity as presented in sports and film. Worth picking up if only for the chapter on male bonding featuring Terry and Arthur from Minder as the case study. This was the 80s of course, so there wasn't much available to discourse outside VHS tapes and 4 channels of TV. Should be at least something in there to be worked into an essay or pub quiz, though its coffee table days are sadly past.

Good book with a lot of foundational truths but I have to say that I throughly enjoyed this book but did not fully agree with all of the authors spins on demonizing the complimentary position. He doesn't come out and say it but it is there in his push for an egalitarianism. Which has its place but it cast a wrongful shadow on the traditional Christian home. I am reading this from a ministers point of view to be far.
