Review # 1 was written on 2015-08-18 00:00:00 Sarah Macadams Are you ready to discover who put a parachute on a puppy? why scientists fire dead birds from cannon? what happened to the world's first flying sheep? If you think you can stomach the sick side of Science, then read on as we go plane crazy. Laugh at some seriously silly flying stunts, find out which scientist was blown up in a balloon, and learn how to build a world-beating plane. "Those magnificent men in there flying machines" 🎵🎼 These gentlemen were pioneers! They all had the dream to fly and some soared high and others got a face full of ground, as Douglas Adams would say, "the trick to flying is throwing yourself at the ground and miss" and trust me there was a lot of hits, funny enough they tried to invent the parachute before the plane, quite a bit of foresight if you ask me. Now unless your like me and have a huge love for aviation history and plane's, you might not find full 100% enjoyment here, but the science is fun and the laughs are real, as you get to read about the true looneys of early manned flight, the ones that threw themselves at the ground and sadly didn't miss, but kept trying until they died or they died literally there men would keep going until it killed them, and then some looney would pick up where they left off and improve the design and eventually miss the ground! And we laugh and make fun of them now, but if it wasn't for these looneys we probably wouldn't be flying around the world as we do today, and mentioning that isn't it crazy to think that the modern idea of flight was in 1903 with the wright brothers, and the first passenger jet flight in 1949, we haven't really been flying for that long, but look how much we have achieved, hint hint we went to the moon, now if that don't make you proud to be human, I don't know what will. 4.5/5 Stars GoodReads ⭐⭐⭐⭐💫 92/100 hot-air balloons 🎈
