Review # 1 was written on 2013-08-05 00:00:00 Chris Yablonsky This is an excellent account of a part of the Dieppe raid that was actually a success, and until I read this book I didn't realise that any of it was, who knew! This account really is full of boys own derring do, made all the more enjoyable becasue it's true. An excellent story about a little known piece of history, that puts the reast of the day into perspective. |
Review # 2 was written on 2017-08-14 00:00:00 Vanessa Velez The first half was definitely the most interesting to read. It contains accounts of the miracles performed by saint Wallenberg amidst an orgy of Nazi violence. The second half deals with the search for Wallenberg after his capture by the Sovjets. Nice to read, but this section takes up too many pages if you ask me. The book is the story of a hero, not of a mortal. And I suppose that's why the spy-thesis doesn't quite the get the attention it deserves here.. |
