First Issue
The Bulgarian edition of Playboy is one of the most popular men's magazines in Bulgaria. The first issue was released in April 2002.

Editor of the first five issues was Ivaylo "Noisy" Tsvetkov. Since September 2002, Antoni Georgiev became editor for 1 year. In September 2003 George Nedeltchev was appointed editor. After his departure in March 2007, the post was taken by Hristo Kiossev and deputy editor Vladimir Konstantinov.

The first publisher of "Playboy" is Bulgaria's Martin Zahariev. Subsequently publication became the property of "Attica Media Bulgaria" Ltd., a subsidiary of Greece's largest publishing group Attica Media, which also issued "Playboy" in Greece, Serbia and Romania.

Since 2004, the Bulgarian "Playboy" organized the "Miss Bulgaria Playmate" contest. Each year 12 girls are selected through auditions to fight for the title. Then 1 of the 12 girls is chosen as the final "Miss Bulgaria Playmate of the Year", and she is awarded a new car.
