EDITORIAL
MOST EXPLOSIVE scandal of the century—V1 the Christine Keeler case—is also becoming the most sexploited. First, there is the motion picture about her life and loves (see page 4), and now—a comedy record album. The cut-ups who cut the disk are British actors Peter Sellers and Anthony Newley, and Newley's actress-wife. Joan Collins. Titled Fool Britannia, the LP is released by Newley's own record company, Acapella, and it features such satirical stabs as the song "I Love You Christine" sung to the melody of "What Kind of Fool Am I?" But more sin-sational are the parts that were cut out after two disk firms refused to handle what they considered a hot potato. One of the snipped segments, reportedly, described a Keeler-type affair involving Her Majesty, the Queen.
SEXIEST actress in France nowadays is not—for once another Parisian with a pout, but a sizzler from the States. to She is Jane Fonda, full-grown daughter of Henry, and she is currently working on a film with French actor Alain Delon. Taking Paris like a storm trooper, Jane has been delighting the press and public with quotable comments like: "I will undoubtedly fall in love with Delon. I can only play love scenes well when I am in love with my partner." Adding fuel to the flames are pictures of Jane in pajama tops, shellac-like slacks, and dresses with sky-high skirts and ground-bound necklines—all of which has earned her the obvious nickname: la Brigitte Bardot Americaine.
LATEST BEAT for Hollywood czar Frank Sinatra is the Manhattan drink establishment known as Jilly's, where the no-longer Thin One has been seen with his latest ring-a-ding-ding, Jill St. John. On one recent trip to Jilly's with Jill, Sinatra got giggles from his greeters with remarks like, "Ver ist yor papers, please," and, "Rots of ruck" (Japanese for "lots of luck"). He was, however, somewhat less cheerful on a previous Jilly-dally with friend Toots Shor, affectionately known as The Blub. About two a.m., Frank glanced up from his Jack Daniels and boisterously slapped Toots on the back, blurting, "Hiya, Blub!" With that, The Blub teetered off his bar stool and broke his wrist, thereby bringing to an end Frank's frolics for the night.
