EDITORIAL NOTE
A lot of people envy me for my job - but I can reliably inform you that the-luckiest man of us all is one Brian O'Hanlon. Six and a half feet of Irish manhood, O'Hanlon can usually be found in an expensive restaurant, quietly evaluating the merits of the devastated bottle of vintage port in front of him, a dazzling young lady at his side and the five course meal resting against his soul. Occasionally, he is seen to saunter across the Continent, accompanied by two or three beautiful models and a photographer for a Men Only location set. And the man actually calls all this work. For recreation, his boozy presence can be relied upon at just about every Rugby international on the calendar, or, in the close season, in his beloved Scaresdale pub in Kensington. In this issue Brian celebrates ten years of writing for Men Only and, fighting down our inevitable jealousy, let us raise our glasses to him.
Eugene Finkei, as it happens, is not Irish, neither has he been with us for ten years - but his recent photographic offerings have certainly had an impact on the style of the magazine. Some weeks ago he travelled to Israel, armed only with camera and film, briefed to collect a pictorial that was a little out of the ordinary. Judge his efforts on page eleven.
One of the most fascinating series in Men Only is the Communication section, where your letters provide us with ever widening topics of sexual discussion and experience. Over the past couple of years, we have collated endless material from your observations, and on page thirty-eight, our resident sexologist Karl Steiner presents a fascinating analysis.
Our interview subject this month is Edna O'Brien, a beautiful lady in every sense of the word and one of the few female novelists that I, as a self-confessed male chauvinist pig, enjoy reading. Miss O'Brien's dialogue with Paul Tabori provides a penetrating insight into her complex character, as you'll discover on page thirty-two.
Elsewhere, Jonathan Clements advises on writing your own porn, if you are that way inclined, while the ever-willing Jack Izard investigates naughty goings-on in camera clubs.
In all, an issue to get you up for the coming of Spring.
