Your message came through loud and clear! That mail sack I'm standing next to is loaded with 10,154 petition cards signed by Gallery readers. They came from the March 1980 issue, as part of an investigative report, The Most Corrupt Agencies in the U.S. Government. The card was headlined, "We're Fed Up and We Won't Take It Anymore!' We promised that we would pass along our readers' feelings to the appropriate legislators in Washington, D.C.... and that's exactly what we are doing. I'm sure many politicians have already read the hundreds of newspaper stories that appeared throughout the country in response to this article.
It's one thing to publish investigative reports. It's another to influence the kind of action that helps correct the situation. Thanks to our responsive, concerned readers, Gallery does both.
