It's no surprise that the four most frequently used words for searching the Internet, according to a study by the Seattle server Metacrawler, are: 1. FREE; 2. SEX; 3. NUDE; and 4. PICTURES. Or that a single search site called Yahoo logged more than 1.5 million hits per month last year for the
input But what we find highly illogical is that Mr. Spock himself, Leonard Nimoy, is "now boldly going where no businessman has gone before—
selling sutier-expensive photos of female nudes on the Internet for $900 a pop!" According to a February 1998 report, the sexless second-in-command Vulcan "has been hawking red-hot pies of nude and seminude women on a World Wide Web site called f64 (http://www.f64.com). No wonder Spock's ears were ever erect the nudes were taken by Nimoy himself! I mean, talk about Enterprising...this gives new meaning to the 67-year-old's space
salutation: "Live long and prosper."
Which is what the promoters of the new "Star Trek: The Experience" interactive attraction at the Las Vegas Hilton hope to do! The $70 million beam park opened this January, with everything from the SpaceQuest Casino to Quark's Bar—serving, naturally, HamBorgers, the Wrap of Khan and Tribble Tenders. As one Trekker at Mecca opined on opening day: "I have no idea what this is going to be like, but I know I'll love it."
The same goes for this latest "Women of Fantasy" {Bleep Space 9?}, which once more ventures into the unknown...and unclothed. Amazingly, all but 10 of the galaxy gals uncovered here can also be discovered in the landmark Glamour Girls of the Century—"a 264-page publication presenting the results of an exclusive international survey of some 1,300 glamour/pinup collectors and fans from 23 countries" (even yours truly was privileged to participate).
