THE SLEUTHSAYER
A recent article entitled "Nobody's Born Perfect" begins: "Top stars such as Cher, Raquel Welch, Jane Fonda, Kathy Smith and Cheryl Tiegs have latched onto the value of exercise and compounded their sex appeal {sufficiently so that each has been uncovered in SLEUTH}. In fact," the article adds, "there aren't many actresses today who don't spend their time between performances working out {who with?}. Fitness and sex appeal are linked."
So are "Shock Jocks" and SLEUTH—this issue marks the fourth time we've uncovered "The Sexiest Sirens of Sport!" And, as any sports buff knows, FOUR consecutive WINNERS would guarantee a triumph in the World Series, NBA playoffs, Stanley Cup and Wimbledon {not to mention Tom Hanks' agent}.
"The most titillating three-letter word in the English language," scoffs gossip writer and tennis ace Taki, "is one and the same with the most controversial word in sport: SEX. Since time immemorial, or as long as men and women have engaged in competitive sports, arguments have raged over whether or not sexual activity hinders athletic performance. I have always thought the contrary."
Same here—Sleuth used to be a tennis pro and pretty fair hoopster—and now there's actual research {unlike the kind we do} to support the notion of meet and motion: "A new study in Archives of Sexual Behavior shows that regular vigorous exercise enhances a man's sexual performance and satisfaction. The study didn't involve exercise and the fair sex," the report noted, "but we think what's good for the gander is good for the goose."
