Biography of Louann Fernald

Louann Fernald (born October 23, 1957) is an American lawyer and former model and actress. She was Playboy magazine's Playmate of the Month for its June 1979 issue. Her centerfold was photographed by Dwight Hooker.

Louann Fernald was born in San Antonio, Texas, and grew up in Florida, where her father raised oranges and worked on missile systems. She attended the University of Florida where she was discovered by “Playboy” magazine. Louann was the Playmate of the Month in the June, 1979 issue of “Playboy.” Following her Playmate stint Fernald moved to New York City, got married and had three children. She has worked as a stockbroker, a public relations consultant, graduated from Pace Law School and became an attorney in 2001. She served as an attorney for 10 years, developing a passion for representing those who can’t speak for themselves.

Louann completed the New York City Marathon in less than four hours in 1988 and was a Cat. 3 road racer for the Hudson Valley Velo Club in 2003. She is the real mother of the ‘secret’ full grown twin sons Ellen DeGeneres introduced as her own on her show in 2016. Louann’s proudest moment was when her daughter graduated from nursing school. Fernald is an animal activist and a vegan. Her personal goal is to educate and inspire a wider audience on how to save our planet from climate change by adopting a plant-based diet.

Now a writer and actor, Fernald is focusing on a couple of large projects and in January 2020, completed her first script, titled, “Saving Roses”. As of February 2020, she’s become an Ambassador for a Swiss-based bathing suit company, making her an international swimsuit model at 62. She hopes to use this opportunity to show how each person can make a difference no matter how small, toward saving the planet by the choices we make in the food that we eat.
