EDITORIAL NOTE
The new year comes in looking every bit as bleak as the old. War, famine, strikes, bombings, the twin crises of economics and food -there just seems no end to it. Small wonder, then, that in such uneasy times, the popularity of Men Only continues to spread. What better way to get away from it all?
In times of trouble the best place is bed - though probably not the kind of bed described by Todd Mallanson. His feature Is there a Doctor in the Bed? is in fact a somewhat ribald examination of what goes on behind the screens of the modern sexologist's clinic. Being one of our more popular contributors, and not being shy of his research work, Mr Mallanson has performed an excellent piece of work on this still thorny subject.
Federico Fellini needs no introduction. The self-obsessed director of Juliet of the Spirits, Satyricon, Roma and the recent Amacord, he has recently emerged as one of the cinema's truly great artists: colourful, fantastic, bizarre and sometimes blasphemous. In order to interview this elusive creature, Paul Tabori went to Rome and brought back what we feel is a definitive piece.
Fellini may be big, but the way things are going, Fiona Richmond may soon be even bigger. Still touring the world on behalf of Men Only, now running her own radio show, she is also starring in Paul Raymond's new extravaganza at the Windmill. The show is Let's Get Laid, and both the show and its leading lady are very strongly featured in this issue. The play itself is presented as an exciting full-colour feature: while the delectable Fiona, tireless as usual, sets the record straight about exotic Bangkok.
The gallivantings of the aristocracy have always fascinated us all, so we couldn't resist it when that well-known author Herbie Brennan brought along his hilarious article on just such a subject. Funny, sexy and scandalous, it's worth holding until the late hour when you're sipping your brandy.
On a more serious level. though no less exciting, is this month's Modus Operandi. The subject is the Female Body Beautiful, what it means to the lady herself, and how she likes to either use it or have it abused. Written up from the mouths of the ladies themselves, it should be invaluable to most of we men - who like to imagine that we understand our women when we don't at all.
Last but not least is popular Ann Summers, who gives advice on how not to sour an affair. And if you're not having an affair. then just look at the girls and have sweet dreams. Failing that we can only say that you've missed something - so go back to the first page and start again.
