EDITORIAL
Snakes alive ! It's another great issue of Men Only and, to slap our own backs as gently as we can, it's every
bit as good as the last one. Snakes alive, indeed. Our lead feature this month is by the popular Godfrey J. Anderiesz and is very much about that very subject. For most men and women, snakes have always had a horrible fascination and many of the reasons for this are rooted in antiquity and myth. Mr Anderiesz explores the function of the snake in its ancient role of sex symbol, shows how it is still regarded by many to be symbolic of the penis and the vagina, and surmises that this creature will live on in our dreams to suggest sex and dread simultaneously.
As we have all read, Evel Knievel has recently announced his retirement — although few people are willing to believe him. Just before Knievel's recent crash at Wembley Stadium, regular Men Only contributor David Jones spent a few days with him and succeeded in getting the only full-length interview of Evel's English trip.
Elsewhere we have fiction by Michael Hastings, the young man who scripted the Marlon Brando sex opus The Nightanners, Tyrolean Capers by J. T. Izard, another learned Karl Steiner foray into the field of sexology and some obscene words by famous American comedian, Lenny Bruce.
