Editorial Note
This month we appear to be favouring the ladies somewhat more than usual — apart from our usual gallery of beauties, that is!
For a start, we have James Hudson writing acidulously on how men frequently set out to change the whole personality of their women, Pygmalion fashion as it were, to make them into the ladies they have secretly dreamed about — not one for the Women's Libbers.
Not too far removed from this subject is Jeremy KnottKingsley's analysis of the clandestine love affair, in which he sets out to prove that both the man and the woman are slyly trying to change each other in an equally dreamlike situation.
The ladies are further well represented in our exclusive portfolio on the pin-up (extracted from the new large-format paperback, Pin-Up, just published by Academy Editions, London, at £2.95), which clearly shows, in wicked prose and lovely nude illustrations, that the pin-up is indeed very much an ideal based on a deeply-rooted male chauvinism — a chauvinism equally well represented in novelist Walter Harris' article Shapes, which is bizarre, wicked and hilarious.
