 First Issue | After some thirty years of Archie comic books, Archie’s publishers hit upon the idea of repackaging the Archies’ adventures in a series of digest magazines. These digests were smaller than a regular comic book in page size, but much thicker. They were often sold alongside supermarket check-out line pamphlets and TV Guides, and proved the perfect present to quiet any fretful children who had been forced to accompany their parents to the store.
