Wellington Invades France: The Final Phase of the Peninsular War, 1813-1814
I came across this book as a result of some newspaper cuttings left by my father which gave a clue to his War exploits about which I knew very little but I do remember him talking of Lt Cdr Hichens. Not only is this a well written and personal account of the life of a very inspirational leader it also includes first hand descriptions of actions in which my father would have been involved which gave me a fantastic personal interest in the Story. For anyone who wants to gain an insight into life in Coastal Forces in World War II or just wants to read the story of a true hero this book is a must read!
