The Vikings Book

The book provides a thorough account of available information about the Viking Age (roughly late 700s to early 1000s) and in doing so becomes a bit of a trudge at times and later in the book I found myself skimming over the numerous battles and overwhelming number of named leaders involved. Still an overarching understanding of the various regions and peoples involved is provided and an interesting history spanning most of Europe, western Asia, and most prominently the British Isles and the forays into Iceland, Greenland and North America.
