Rips apart television shows like The Cosby Show and Family Feud, and breaks down their meaning in our culture. Does likewise with advertising, rock and roll, film; I found him brilliant and dead on right on so many topics -- though as someone filled with cynicism, I yet found him at times to be overly so...leading him to give too much credit to ad people and filmmakers. His plumbing of the deeper significance within many media messages is probably accurate and useful, but I think he overestimates the conscious intentions of their creators. Also, he was way off base in his views on est, an experience (not a cult, movement or doctrine) which he either never had or at best, went through only to support his preconceived notion of it.

Though written before the Internet, you can transpose most of his opinions on television to the web.
