Cortes and the Spanish Conquest
This picture book tells the story of the miniature Torah Ilan Roman brought with him on the mission. The author interviewed Joachim Joseph, the Professor of Planetary Science at Tel Aviv University who gave it to Ramon. It was given to Joseph in Bergen-Belsen on the occasion of his bar mitzvah. The explosion of the shuttle is dealt with in an epilogue. Written in an age-appropriate way for small children, without graphic violence, but does deal with both the Holocaust and the death of the Columbia crew. It also talks about Ramon and his professional relationship with the professor.
