Brian Urlacher Book

Written in a poetic first person narrative, this explores what Sitting Bull might have thought/felt near the end of his life, looking back at the tragedies that occurred for his people. I think this approach has its benefits...it lends emotional power...but also its drawbacks...to assume that you know what he thought or felt is presumptuous and could lead to an inaccurate portrayal. I do appreciate that the author points out in the author's note that this is historical fiction (although at my local library it is incorrectly shelved/classified as a biography) and includes a historical note.
