"Whaddya mean, impossible? That's Herbie!" Legendary comics publisher ACG had a hit on its hands in the mid-1960s with the adventures of Herbie Popnecker, a plump lump of a kid who secretly possesses nearly unlimited superpowers with the help of his collection of incredible lollipops. Join Herbie as he takes on goofy cavemen, joins George Washington's army, gets the better of pop-culture figures like Gregory Peck and the Queen of England, and dons the unassuming costume of the Fat Fury for the very first time!
This volume collects material from Herbie issues 6 through 14, originally published by American Comics Group, Inc.
…the vogue for tuxedoed hardcover editions of 12-cent newsprint oddities has thankfully reached Richard E. Hughes and Ogden Whitney's daffy little 1960s series Herbie, which took the idea of heroic wish-fulfillment to its natural conclusion…Hughes took a while to perfect his stories' tone of deadpan absurdity, but Whitney's slightly stiff, matter-of-fact artwork improves the gags by understating them.
