The Voyage That Never Ends Book

The recent article about Lowry's semi-mysterious death turned me on to the author. None of the bookstores had Under the Volcano, so I got this instead. Some of the poems are pretty damn good and the stories are really good at times. The preface asserted that great novelists are really the creators of great sentences (or something like that) - for great sentences, Lowry definitely kicks ass. But there are aspects of the stories that leave something to be desired: not surprising considering that it's a compendium of unpublished works. I haven't really delved into the letters just yet, though I don't know when I will. As a hardback, I suppose it was a little pricey for the actual value - kind of like buying a limited edition rarities record - it's really only meant for fans.
