The Nature of Resistance in South Carolina's Works Progress Administration Ex-Slave Narratives
I liked this book, but can't say I loved it. There were definitely things to think about. I hadn't thought before about how Japanese Americans would be treated in 1942 - much more brutally than Muslims these days it seems. I think this book would have been better if the author didn't ramble on off the subject so often. It's ok if you really need to get a deeper perspective of the character, but sometimes, it just seemed like rambling. I had a hard time getting really into the book and allowed distractions in much more readily than most books. Not a bad read, but not as awesome as I was expecting.
