Porcupines
Library book - Charlotte liked this book, she calls it "All About Porcupines." (A running joke for her - lots of things are "all about...") I have a really hard time finding nature books that fit a toddler friendly format - Charlotte loves photographs of real animals, but she only has a two year old attention span. A lot of nature books feature paragraphs of prose, which is just too much. Not to mention, she's not quite ready for photos of lions with their kill, stuff like that. This book was completely perfect - a photo on one page, with 2 to 3 sentences about the picture on the facing page. Heck, even I learned something - apparently baby porcupines are called "porcupettes." I think this book would have been a much bigger hit if it featured an animal that Charlotte was already interested in, such as chipmunks, sea otters, or seals.
