Lands of the Slave and the Free: Or, Cuba, the United States, and Canada Book

This book is so well written by Kathleen Stocking. She describes the various areas in Michigan with a very discerning, interesting, historical perspective. We are planning a trip to Michigan - her stories have really sparked my interest. Ms. Stocking is very well-read and culturally aware across the world. She opened my eyes to many different interesting subjects. Her writing provided the opportunity to learn many new words and about books and films with which I was not familiar. As I read the book, I examined some of the people and history using the internet. Thank you for perhaps the BEST book I've read. I will spread the word. I will look for other books by Kathleen Stocking.
