Death Visits Mardi Gras Book

Carl Dent's favorite bartender met his death under questionable circumstances. More questions appeared when he was assaulted on returning to his apartment. The intruders left a little evidence-a book of matches with the logo "Starbright Lounge." He visited the lounge and met a striptease dancer new to the lounge. Circumstances brought about information that might lead to his visitors. A television program ended up as a clue to drug trafficking, which was revealed as a result of his invitation to a carnival ball the night before Fat Tuesday. Mardi Gras found him in a warehouse listening in on a meeting of the powers in control of narcotics trafficking in the city. He was able to contact the leader of a crime control organization to disclose his knowledge. The meeting was arranged to take place after the night parade . . . Would Carl's life return to normal, or would more death visit him?
