Michael Henderson, who led the World Affairs Council in Portland for years, moved back home to England and wrote the story (here) of the years during WWII when he and his sibs were shipped to The New World for their own safety. English people feared the Nazis would take over and retrain their children. The outpouring of generosity of Canadian and American families for all the rescued children was remarkable. This book tells of the whole movement in general, details and anecdotes of his and others' experiences, and their significance to the war and to the German movement. Like Michael's most famous books on Forgiveness, this one is clear, fascinating, full of things you didn't have a clue about, and well annotated.
