Easy Work!: An Old Tale Book

I was immediately hooked when I started reading this book because it reminded me of my childhood. Growing up, my mom was a stay-at-home mom and my dad worked. My dad would always tell my mom her job was so much easier than his and all she did was sit around all day. My mom would tell him to try and do all the cleaning, cooking, errand running, and taking care of the kids for a day to see how much work it actually was being a stay-at-home mom. This story was about this exact same scenario, but the mother and father actually traded places for a day and the house ended up burning down! It just made me laugh while I was reading because the mother and father in the story were exactly like my parents.
I liked the illustrations in this story. They were detailed and helped tell the story. During the part in the book when everything was falling apart and the house was burning down, the illustrations were funny because the illustrator made the babies eyes huge to try and make her look scared. But I just thought it looked funny!
I would recommend reading this book to young students because they would think it was funny when the house burns down and the when the dog runs away with the baby in the cradle tied to him. It is also a good read for young students because it teaches them to appreciate what their parents do for them. There could be a discussion to have after reading the story to get students to realize how much their parents do for them.
