Since its founding at Northwestern University in 1964, TriQuarterly has remained one of the most widely admired and important literary magazines in the country. Under the editorial direction of poet Susan Firestone Hahn, TriQuarterly continues to publish the best work of both established and new poets and fiction writers.
The second of TriQuarterly's millennial issues will contain a novella by Stuart Dybek, stories by John Barth, Tess Gallagher, Gail Godwin, Cris Mazza, Mark Wisniewski and Katherine Min; poetry by Rafael Campo, Eamon Grennan, Allen Grossman, Andrew Hudgins, Timothy Liu, Campbell McGrath, Gary Soto and Virgil Suarez. There will be an interview with the poet and translator David Ferry, plus some of his new translations of Horace; an article by Robert Whittaker entitled "Tolstoy's American Visitors: Memoirs of Personal Encounters, 1868-1909"; essays by Sandra M. Gilbert on loss and memory and Gary Adelman on Beckett's novel The Unnamable. Also there will be a section devoted to the long poem, and other stunning stories, poems, and translations.
