The Color of Angels Book

The Color of Angels is about two friends—one white and one black—born in the depths of the Great Depression, confronting the challenges of growing up in a small southern town haunted by old hatreds and prejudices. Their moment of truth comes in the valley of death of a strange land, one friend and his comrade wounded so seriously they cannot use their weapons to defend themselves, the other, now a medic and conscientious objector, who does not believe in killing, their only hope of survival in the face of certain death.
