A well-illustrated look at the female laboring force (outside of domestic service) in the United States between 1900 and 1920. For such a short book, there is a lot of information about the sweatshops, early attempts at unionizing, and the attempts to better conditions for women workers.
It makes for an interesting look at where women stand today in terms of wages, hours, and attitudes.
