The Homeplace
At first I was a little wary - I had read two rather preachy and somewhat dull books by Louisa May Alcott not too long ago. I was so wrong! And the positive reviews were so right.
This is a lovely and refreshing and never boring story with good Christian values. Set in Arkansas during the Great Depression (a bit of a Waltons feel ...), it's about family, fellowship, faith, and the power of prayer in all adversity.
I loved it.
Volume 2 is already on my list.
