Long Journey Home: Oral Histories of Contemporary Delaware Indians
Adirondack stories appeal to my roots. This was a series of loosely connected events that began with the author's ancestors, who did logging in the Aldrich and Star Lake areas of New York State. Various other events described the author and his friends going to various schools for hiking, skiing or paddling canoes. The locations rang bells for me because I had been through Warrensburg, an aunt lived in Carthage and I grew up in Potsdam. It was an enjoyable tale of outdoorsmanship, especially if you could relate to snow, very cold temperatures and roughing it. I did miss the absence of a plot and the pictures throughout the book were very blurry.
