Selling the Great War: The Making of American Propaganda
Axelrod crafts and interesting narrative, but it comes off as an apologist biography of George Creel. He relies too heavily on Creel's memoirs and other works, and in doing so misses key arguments and evidence he could have used to provide a more rounded history of American WWI propaganda.
