I took my family to La Ronde today and I thought I would share my experience with you before you make the trek to this park.

La Ronde grew out of the 1967 World's Fair, which was called Expo 67. It is situated on a island named, Île Sainte-Hélène, right beside the city of Montreal.

The only way to get there from Montreal island is over the Jacques Cartier bridge. You had better hope that there is no construction on the bridge, or that there hasn't been an accident, or that the La Ronde parking lot is not full. The day I went there was an accident on the bridge. It took us 45 minutes to get from the exit of Highway 720 to the entrance of the parking lot. Once we arrived at the parking lot, the police informed us that the parking lot was full and that we could not enter. We then had to drive to the South Shore, park the car and take the metro to get to the park. All said and done, it took us nearly two hours to get to the park. This is completely unacceptable and it makes for an unenjoyable day.

Most of the park's nine coasters are mediocre with two noticeable standouts, Goliath and Vampire. The park also provides a quality lineup of flat rides that are both thrilling and family oriented.

For the most part, English speaking patrons need not be worried about the language barrier, as many employees are willing to help English-speaking tourists. However, a laissez-faire attitude among some of the employees slows down operations to a degree.

The Demon is one of the best rides at La Ronde. When strapped in, you are lifted up before being spun in many different directions. You go upside down, spin round and round, and go fast. It was very unpredictable, which made it exciting. At many parts, you travel towards jets of water, which make it look like you're going to get splashed. At the very last second you flip away, so you stay dry. The best place to sit is on the far left, because you go quite close to the water. This adds a magical element to the ride.

The Vampire is one of the best roller-coasters at La Ronde. This was a really smooth roller coaster and there were many turns and drops. It went fast, at a speed of fifty miles per hour, and I quite enjoyed it.

The line up at the Super Manège is usually quite slow because it is an old roller-coaster and cannot accommodate many passengers. It was not very scary and there weren't very many drops, so I recommend it for children and people who don't go on a lot of roller coasters.

Be careful of the roller coaster named Ednör. My kids won't go on it anymore because there heads kept smashing against the locking mechanism on the seat.

In conclusion, I was semi-whelmed by La Ronde. I have been to many Six Flags parks and this is my least favorite. If you are planning on travelling to Montreal and you have extra time than I would suggest going to La Ronde, but otherwise don't waste your time.
