| Anita Berber (June 10, 1899 – November 10, 1928) was a German dancer, actress, prostitute, and writer who was the subject of an Otto Dix painting. She lived during the time of the Weimar Republic.
Anita was addicted to drugs and alcohol, she was bisexual, and Berlins most popular nude dancer. She danced in "Tänze des Grauens, des Lasters und der Extase", translated to "Dance of the terror, the vice and the extasy".
She acted in some silent movies with directors like Fritz Lang, Richard Oswald. She was painted by Otto Dix.
She died of tuberculosis after a real wild life. Anita Berber has several misspellings. Internet searches have led to many erroneous spellings of celebrities names.
