Amanda Michelle Seyfried ss an American actress, singer, and model. Born and raised in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Seyfried began modelling when she was 11 and ventured into acting when she was 15. With recurring roles as Lucy Montgomery on the CBS soap opera As the World Turns and Joni Stafford on the ABC soap All My Children. She gained prominence following her feature film debut in the teen comedy Mean Girls and her recurring role as Lilly Kane on the UPN television series Veronica Mars. She went on to have supporting roles in independent films such as Nine Lives and Alpha Dog, and portrayed Sarah Henrickson on the HBO series Big Love.

Amanda Michelle Seyfried was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania, on December 3, 1985. Her mother, Ann , is an occupational therapist, and her father, Jack Seyfried, is a pharmacist. She is of mostly German descent, with smaller amounts of English, Scots-Irish, and Welsh ancestry. Seyfried graduated from Allentown's William Allen High School in 2003.

Seyfried has an older sister, Jennifer Seyfried, a musician in the Philadelphia organ-driven rock band Love City. Seyfried enrolled at Fordham University in the fall of 2003, but did not attend after being offered her role in Mean Girls.
