F. Gonzalez-Crussi is a lovely writer (and I'm sure a fine pathologist). This book contains strikung descriptions of death and how different cultures deal with it. It is highly quotable and I found myself sharing passages with others because of the beauty of the writing. It will make you feel at once unsettled and comforted by your own eventual demise.
As some other reviews mention, the author does frequently go on digressions. But they are interesting and well written. Those who call it rambling, I would like to know what they believe to be eloquence.
