Architects of Peace: Visions of Hope in Words and Images
A great opportunity to understand a committed and thoughtful person's journey through non-violent resistance to tyranny in a violent time. The 60s represent a fractious period of awakening to the false notions of America as the all benevolent and righteous defender of liberty. Our government's misguided pursuit of an agenda as directed by the military industrial complex was revealed in Vietnam. The response by average citizens and students ultimately reversed policies that were unconstitutional and brutally carried out by a very disturbingly radical cabal running our nation. With the benefit of history as revealed by the Nixon tapes, Pentagon Papers, and the Freedom of Information act we see the cataclysm in the light of day. This book is a great reminder of how one person can make a difference and clearly reveals parallels between the foreign policy we pursue is little changed with respect to transparency and the motivations for actions resulting in continuous wars. It gives hope to all who (Coleen Rowley, Ray McGovern, Tom Drake, Ed Snowden, William Binney) choose to resist and demonstrate against the government's illegal incursions around the globe.
