Sounds Like Alberta is filled with notable quotes from some of Alberta's original inhabitants, early explorers, pioneers, and missionaries. The book explores many of these quotes, and places them within the historical context of this province, with an emphasis on the time-frame leading up to Alberta's establishment as a formal province in 1905. During the century and a half between 1754 (the visit of Anthony Henday) and 1905, scores of comments from and about Alberta and its people were recorded. From these, the authors chose statements and observations that spoke of the grandeur, passion, danger, hardship, hatred, violence, fear, humor, commitment, love, optimism, and raw courage that were part of Alberta's history.
