About the Author:
May Theilgaard Watts is the author of several popular field guides, many scholarly articles, and the natural history classic, Reading the Landscape of America. She started the movement to establish the first major rail-to-trails conversion, the Illinois Prairie Path, and was a well-known naturalist, writer, and activist in the Midwest.

I first read this in high school for my leaf collection project. I have since purchased this book for my children. I want them to be able to identify trees they ask about on our hikes. It is a wonderful book for all ages.
